  • SYL collects different categories of data to ensure the proper functioning of the club and the safety of its members:

    • Required personal information: name, first name, contact details, date of birth, etc.

    • Maritime navigation data: navigation history, GPS positions, participation in outings.

    • Health information and physical abilities: data necessary for assessing fitness for navigation and participation in activities.

    • Financial data: information related to payments, contributions, and transactions.

  • The collected data is used exclusively for:

    • Managing memberships and different levels of members.

    • Organizing training, validations, and events.

    •  Facilitating communication and connection between club members.

    • Sending official club information and communications.

    • No sharing with commercial third parties: your data is never sold or transmitted to commercial partners.

    • Limited sharing among members: certain information may be shared among members, only with your explicit consent.

    • Legal obligations: data may be transmitted to competent authorities only in case of legal obligation.

  • SYL implements appropriate security measures:

    • Encryption of sensitive information.

    • Restricted access to data according to authorization level.

    • Regular backup procedures to prevent data loss.

  • In accordance with GDPR, each member has the following rights:

    • Access to their personal data.

    • Rectification and deletion of inaccurate or outdated information.

    • Data portability upon request.

    • Objection to data processing in certain cases.

    • Voluntary tracking: position tracking is activated only with the member's consent, for safety purposes.

    • Position sharing: positions may be shared among navigating members for outing coordination.

    • Navigation history: retained for organizational and safety purposes.

    • Retention period: data is retained for a duration appropriate to its purpose.

    • Archives: training and validations are archived to ensure skill tracking.

    • Deletion: data is deleted after the member's departure, unless there is a legal obligation to retain it.

    • Types of cookies used: navigation, statistics, and preference cookies.

    • Purposes: improve user experience, analyze traffic, and personalize content.

    • Preference management: each member can manage their cookie preferences via the site settings.

  • Special conditions for under-18s: minors' registration requires written parental authorization.
    Enhanced protection: minors' data is subject to particular vigilance and restricted access.

    • Secure transfers: any transfer outside the EU is governed by appropriate safeguards.

    • Guarantees: compliance with European data protection standards.

    • Notification: any changes to this policy will be communicated to members.

    • Continued acceptance: continued use of services constitutes acceptance of changes.
